Do-It-Yourself-Pancakes! Join the fun at Slappy Cakes :)

Places that serve 'breakfast all day' are becoming famous here in the Philippines. Maybe the most famous one is iHop. But there is also a pancake place in Eastwood called Slappy Cakes. When I first saw this place I was really intrigued and excited to try it out. Isn't it fun to shape your own pancakes?

Geraldine and I went here for dinner one time. We decided not to be so adventurous so we just ordered buttermilk batter. They will serve it to you in an 8oz bottle. At first I thought that it might be too small for the two of us but we actually made a lot of pancakes. For the toppings we had chocolate chips (for our sweet tooth!). Geraldine also ordered a rice meal. It was longganisa with garlic rice and eggs.

So here is the buttermilk batter

The girl who took our orders also showed us how to cook the pancakes to make sure that we won't burn our chocolate chip toppings

Finally, it was my turn to cook! I made small round pancakes. I don't know why. They are just cute :)

My pancakes are ready!

Made a bigger one for myself. LOL. We did not order any syrup anymore because they already had a plain one for free but you can order other flavors of syrup (Maple and Cherry) or other toppings if you wish (whipped cream, peanut butter, honey, lemon curd, etc.)

Geraldine (the artistic one) showed off a little by making these letter pancakes
pancakes shaped as letters 'G' and 'E'

Of course we decided to pay tribute to our school by spelling out its initials A-D-M-U
'ADMU'

We had fun making the pancakes. We even made stars out of the batter but we do not have pictures to show you. The pancakes we made were really yummy. Fluffy and soft. Although some of you might think that you can just do this at home I suggest you try Slappy Cakes's pancakes as well. They really are a HIT. After all not all regular homemade pancakes will taste this good. :)

You can also try other types of batter. They have Peanut Butter, Whole Grain, Vegan and Chocolate.

This is their Bongga-Longganisa. I suggest you skip this. Nothing 'Bongga' about it. You can find better tasting longganisas in supermarkets.

What I love about Slappy Cakes is that they are creating a fun dining experience with the 'make your own pancake' concept. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed :)
