Army Navy Burger + Burrito

Army Navy is a burger and burrito place that caused a hype for quite some time already. Most of you must have tried it by now but we just wanted to share our love for their burritos.

Geraldine and I are not fans of spicy food. But Army Navy's burritos are sooooo good that we are willing to tolerate the pungency. Add the salsa, sour cream and squeeze lime on it and you get one hell of a burrito. We specially love the sour cream because it complements the food. So if some of you have not tried Army Navy yet, this is highly recommended! They also offer vegetarian burrito for Php165. What we always order is their Steak Burrito worth Php195, quite expensive but worth it! CRAVE HIT!!!

We are yet to try other stuff  in Army Navy. Once we do, we will share the experience with you. Don't hesitate to comment on this post about your Army Navy Crave Hit experience as well :)

My Thai Kitchen @ Eastwood

We had dinner in My Thai last Friday. Thanks to their very small space there were no more seats inside so we sat at Lucky Yakiniku Cafe. We were not so familiar with Thai food so we just ordered seafood.

We got only a bowl of shrimp fried rice. We thought that since we have noodles, one bowl would suffice. Nothing special here. Skip this and just get plain rice or something else.

Shrimp Fried Rice

I have always loved Pad Thai noodles most specially the ones with shrimp. Which is why I suggested to Geraldine to get this one because it should be good. However when we ate My Thai's Shrimp Pad Thai noodles, it was too sour. Prior to eating the dish I squeezed a little bit of lemon on it so I was disappointed to have it this sour because that little lemon juice should not make it THAT sour. Aside from that, it lacked flavor. So this is a MISS for us.

Despite the disappointing Shrimp Fried Rice and Shrimp Pad Thai Noodles we ordered something good. This squid is one of their bestsellers. It was like an appetizer. It was so nice inside the mouth because it had that melt in the mouth feel due to its softness. The sauce was not too spicy either. This is a HIT for us.

Iscreamist @ Teacher's Village

Iscreamist is a famous ice cream place in Teacher's Village. Every afternoon the place is jam packed with a lot of students from different schools. Only problem with them is that they have a very small space for so many customers. Their popularity is largely attributed to its famous dragon's breath. Smoke comes out of your mouth once you eat this because of the liquid nitrogen. Hence the name dragon's breath.

In the picture below, you can see their best selling Dragon's Breath S'mores. This is their biggest HIT. Just dip it in the cup (not too long because you might not be able to bite it anymore), eat it then be fascinated as smoke comes out of your mouth.

For me however I prefer their ice cream more. They have lots of flavours. My favorite is Nutella. Sadly, we do not have a picture but it is highly recommended. They use real Nutella (not Goya) for their ice cream.

Their Toasted Mallow ice cream was good but not something to look forward to. They have better flavors. Just skip this.

Here is a picture of Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream. It is also a HIT. You will be able to feel the blueberry bits in your mouth which makes the ice cream more "authentic".We do not even need to explain further. Iscreamist just makes delicious desserts. So for those who haven't tried it, it's a must!!!!

Flavors of China @ Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall

Last August 5 we had dinner in Sta. Lucia. We were torn between Chicken Rice Shop and Flavors of China but once the waiter said they had Yang Chow all you can we immediately went inside. Their dishes are relatively affordable and is good for 2 persons. The Yang Chow is worth 45pesos and you can have as much as you want.

They served free crackers!!! Yum yum :) They are just like Chowking's kropek.

Here is the yang chow fried rice. It was really delicious. No wonder it is a CRAVE HIT not only for us but to all of their customers.

This is Sizzling Beef in Flavours Steak Sauce. This is also a HIT. It was indeed full of flavors and had a certain kind of sweetness. It was really good. They can however improve on the tenderness of the beef. It was a little bit difficult to cut it.

We also ordered this Boneless Chicken with Lemon Sauce. Another HIT for us. The chicken was very soft and the lemon sauce was not too sour. It had a right blend of sweet and sour.

Our experience in Flavors of China was excellent. The waiter serving us was very attentive and friendly. The dishes we ordered are worth every penny we paid for. We definitely recommend this place for Chinese food lovers who do not want to spend too much money on Hap Chan or Yang Chow.

Some of their other branches are in Farmers Plaza, Cubao and Tomas Morato.

La Crêperie @ Eastwood

We were always intrigued by this place. It looked so comfy inside and the crepes look soooooo yummy!!!! Finally we tried it some time last year. We went there just for the sweets since we had dinner already. When we opened the menu Geraldine and I knew what to order already: Mango Peach Nutella. Just by reading it you can tell it is so good. We also ordered Banana Foster so that we can try something else.

So here is the beautiful treat. This particular crepe does not come with a scoop of ice cream by the way. You have to ask the waiter to add a scoop on top to make it extra special. Without further ado, this is a CRAVE HIT! Everything was perfect, the crepe, the mangoes, the peaches, and of course the nutella. What I loved about this was that the nutella was everywhere. Nutella inside and outside! The ice cream added flavor and sweetness to the dish. Heavenly dessert!! :)

The other crepe we ordered was not bad at all. The Bananas Foster was incredibly awesome as well. The sweetness was just right and the banana's flavor went perfectly with crepe and the vanilla ice cream on top. CRAVE HIT!!

Sizzlin' Pepper Steak

Last year after the Ateneo Blue Eagles won its 5th Championship AKA 5-Peat we went to Sizzlin' Pepper Steak in Katipunan to finally have dinner. It wasn't actually our first time eating here but we wanted to share the experience anyway.

Both of us were too hungry to think of what to order so we just went with the basic: Beef Pepper Rice. This is the bestseller. This dish consists of beef sukiyaki, pepper rice and your choice of sauce. I think the best sauce for this is Twist of Steak.

For those who still haven't tried this place, when they serve you your order make sure to flip the meat right away to avoid one side to burn. Pour your choice of sauce whenever, however and wherever you want. I  prefer to pour it on the beef while it is still sizzling. After that you can enjoy your food! Just be careful because it will be really hot. But it tastes really good. Undeniably a CRAVE HIT. :)

Sebastian's @ Regis Center, Katipunan

Sebastian's is a CRAVE HIT. It is quite expensive for 100 pesos a scoop but it is very much worth it. Some of their flavors are weird like the Green Mango with Bagoong, but you can skip that if you don't like it.  If you are reluctant on which flavor you would like to try you can ask for a free taste. Some of my favorites are Salted Butter Caramel (yummy!!!), Blueberry Cheesecake and Red Velvet.

I am not a fan of Blueberry Cheesecakes but this surely won me over.
